Splashing out for hospice with bathroom pledge
ONE of Macclesfield’s newest companies is willing to give a share of its profits to East Cheshire Hospice.
Simply Bathrooms and Tiles will donate five per cent of its profits from the sale of adapted bathrooms to the charity.
The business is co-owned by Steve Littler and partner Gail Hayes, who is Macclesfield born and bred. Their showroom is on Upper Paradise Mill, Park Lane.
Steve, a plumber and bathroom fitter for many years, has expanded by opening his own showroom business designing, supplying and fitting bathrooms.
He said: “East Cheshire Hospice is an amazing charity with little government funding and will therefore always need help to raise enough funds to continue to provide such excellent care.
“Gail is also passionate about caring for the elderly and special needs and we want to give back to the local community, so will donate a percentage of profit from any bathrooms which need adapting for special requirements.
“This may include sensory products for autism, dementia or simply to improve accessibility for the elderly.”
The couple are holding a charity day at their showroom as part of The Treacle Market on Sunday, April 29.
For a £1 donation, they will donate bathroom furniture worth £1,200 to the winner of a draw, the result will be announced at the hospice on May 4.
April Green, corporate relationships manager at the hospice, said: “We’re delighted that Simply Bathrooms and Tiles is supporting us, showing the on-going commitment of the business community towards funding patient care.”
