Not too late to be part of Starlight Walk spectacular
THE sparkling Starlight Walk is set to become a spectacular success – and it’s not too late to be there!
Organisers are hoping for a record turnout of around 700 walkers for the East Cheshire Hospice event at Capesthorne Hall, on Friday, April 20 at 7.30pm.
A terrific response from the public has ensured the hospice will celebrate its 30th anniversary in style at one of the highlights of the charity’s fundraising calendar.
A special pearl theme will mark the occasion with plenty to entertain the crowds at one of Cheshire’s most picturesque locations.
The hall will be illuminated, adding to the party atmosphere and a fire pit will offer somewhere on the route to relax and reflect.
Gates will open at 6pm with entertainment from top DJ Darren Proctor.
Hot and cold food is available and fun activities include a treasure hunt for families.
A stall will sell ceramic sunflowers designed to mark the hospice’s birthday and discount vouchers issued for Tough Woofer, a 5k obstacle course for canine friends at the same venue on Sunday, September 30.
The deadline for online entries via www. eastcheshirehospice.org. uk/starlightwalk18 is midnight on Wednesday, April 18.
Entries are also be accepted on the night at the same rate of £15 for adults and £10 for children.
The entrance fee only covers the cost of the event so participants are asked to raise at least £50 in sponsorship, or make a £50 donation, when booking a place.
The walk starts at 7.30pm, covering a 2.5km circuit through beautiful parkland. Walkers can do one, two or four loops of the course.
Many walkers take part in memory of loved ones and a candle, pebble of remembrance and a paper lantern bag can be collected on the night.
T-shirts are issued in advance and participants receive a commemorative medal afterwards.

“Our message to those thinking of coming along is to sign up now or simply come along on the night. There’s no age limit and it’s a great way to support the Hospice and help us celebrate our 30th anniversary.
“Starlight Walk is part of the bereavement journey for many people and a fitting way to help remember loved ones.”
