Chrissie’s work at the Moss Rose rewarded

-

MACCLESFIELD Town volunteer Chrissie Thompson has been recognised for her efforts after she was awarded the National League Volunteer of the Month award for March.

The newly launched award was created in order to display the contributions from volunteers across the National League, who all help their respective sides. Chrissie’s efforts for Macclesfield has seen her become the latest to win the award.

She regularly gives up her time at Macclesfield in order to oversee the reception team at the Moss Rose and helps to make things tick in the office. She is also a key figure in the Silkmen Supporters Trust and helps to bridge the gap between supporters and fans, and she was delighted to receive the accolade.

“The award was totally unexpected and is a great honour. I would like to thank the reception team who work alongside me for their continued support and willingness to help out when we are short staffed. The office staff are always really supportive as well,” she said. “I volunteer because I love the club. It is good to be able to have the opportunity to help out and play my own small part. There are so many people in the football club that this could have been given to and it is so nice to see that all of our hard work has been noticed.”

Macclesfield club chairman Mark Blower has praised Chrissie, and has thanked her for all of her efforts during her time with the club.

“We are all really pleased for Chrissie. Along with all the volunteers at the club she plays a massive role in the success Macclesfield Town,” she said. “Chrissie has done so much for the Club over the last few seasons and we really are so lucky to have her as part of our team.”
