NOMINATIONS for the Everybody Awards 2018 are now open.
The event, hosted by Everybody Sport and Recreation, which delivers sports and leisure services on behalf of the council, recognises residents who help change lives through healthy recreation.
Awards include: Sports Personality of the Year; Health and Wellbeing Award; Club of the Year; Coach of the Year; Volunteer of the Year; Young Volunteer of the Year; Young Sports Achiever of the Year; Disabled Sports Achiever of the Year; Lifetime Achievement and Everybody Customer Hero.
Winners from last year included Sophie Thornhill who became a Paralympic Champion in Rio.
Andrew Kolker, Chairman at Everybody Sport and Recreation, said: “Every year we are proud of the achievements coming from our region, from aspiring Olympians to organisations making a difference to the lives of Cheshire East residents.
“We are encouraging you to nominate your heroes in your town for an Everybody Award, they deserve recognition and we want to tell their story.”
The awards will be taking place on October 26, with gold and silver medallist Sharron Davies returning as this year’s host.
She said: “I am over the moon to announce I will be returning to the 2018 Everybody Awards as this year’s host.
“The Everybody Awards are a truly inspirational event, celebrating and sharing success stories of local sporting, community, health and wellbeing heroes in Cheshire East and I am delighted to be a part of the evening again this year.
“Now that nominations are open, I urge you all to nominate anyone that you know, who deserves to be recognised so we can celebrate their success.”
