Charity boot camp off to flying start

-

A CHARITY bootcamp set up in aid of the East Cheshire Hospice welcomed 35 people to its first session.

The bootcamp is run by fitness instructor and ex-soldier Jason Curtis, who came up with the idea to hold weekly outdoor fitness sessions in return for a donation.

And Jason says after a fantastic first week, he is well on his way to providing a regular income for the hospice.

He said: “The first bootcamp was a huge success.

“We had over 35 people attend and raised over £180. My aim now is to get the bootcamp to 50+ per week and try to raise £1,000 a month for the hospice.”

Jason, 28, who runs 5S Fitness on Hurdsfield Road, said the military style bootcamp is perfect for absolute beginners or anyone wishing to increase their fitness.

Jason added that the training sessions will also be the perfect way for people to prepare for the Born Survivor event at Capesthorne Hall in May.

The classes take place at Victoria Park on Saturdays, from 9am until 10am, and are open to anyone aged 16 and over, meeting at the bandstand.

Minimum donations of £5 per person.

East Cheshire Hospice is based on Millbank Drive in Macclesfield and provides support for adults with life-limiting illnesses.
