Oakes had raced to 45 but was also caught, leaving Prestbury at 96 for 4 and then 102 for 5 when Ben Milner was lbw for 2.

Prestbury soon lost two more wickets, Shanmugum out for 13 and Graham for 1.

With 10 overs left and eight wickets down the draw was the best option as a victory unlikely, so Kirkland and Abbi Biswas dug and chipped away the overs.

Disley tried eight different bowlers to dislodge the Prestbury batsmen but failed and Kirkland, 13 not out, and Biswas, 7 not out, got the draw and 10 points in a great rearguard effort.

Next weekend the team travel to Haslington.
