COUNCILLORS Nick Mannion and Neil Puttick were thrilled to get their hands on the Vanarama Trophy at the Silkmen’s celebratory parade.
The Macclesfield Town fans joined the parade to celebrate the Silkmen’s promotion to the Football League.
Coun Puttick, who told the Express how he had been mobbed by fans on the day of the club’s historic promotion while wearing his Macclesfield Town shirt at Tesco, said: “I’m so pleased that Macclesfield Town Council has been able to honour the Silkmen on their fantastic achievement.
“They have demonstrated what can be done when community spirit and grassroots dedication are put into the effort, even without much money I am so delighted the lads did it, especially as we started planning for this parade a few months ago!”
