‘HOPES high for huge HS2 boost (Express, May 9)
Marty Hill: Macclesfield doesn’t need HS2.
Neil Jay: Nowhere needs it pal biggest waste of money you will ever see. Just invest in the current rail network
David Westbury: Never mind all this HS2 Rubbish. How about a decent link road to the M6?
Sharon Pollard: Sort the shambles we’ve already got, there’s an idea
Karen Landon: No one needs HS2.
Toni Kelly: David Westbury - or just repair the roads we’ve got?!
Jacek Kazmierczak: How about 2nd M6 next to it?
Andrew Dawson: Bring it on, yes please. Loads of work and loads of money for us rail workers.
Paul Idell: Be a while yet mate but it will happen. People need to understand that we are an island nation with an ever increasing population and we do need improved infrastructure.
MP unveils plan to save mental care. MP David Rutley said a new ward could be built to provide care for mental health patients in Macclesfield, instead of sending patients to Chester as proposed (Express, May 9).
Sarah Wake: So will he really stand up to HIS Tory government over this? I think not it’s been grass roots Labour members, local council candidates and Neil Puttick who have been campaigning for months on this issue. Neil will be standing for Labour in the next general election. Think about who is working for our community when you vote.
Georgina Moore: I for one hope this does turn out to be a viable solution. As people having to track all the way to Chester certainly isn’t! Look forward to hearing the outcome of this option.
Jo Taylor: He really has very little sway over this one way or another. If you have a strong opinion, read the full consultation document and contribute to the process:
Does anyone not else think it a farce that one part of the NHS has to rent a building off Jim Nettle: but hear this!
Most of you will be blissfully unaware that the consultation is going on to close the mental health unit and move all in patient mental health services to Chester. So, without raising this issue, the consultation will probably go ahead largely unnoticed.
So, you know what, I praise him for raising this issue, maybe it will get people to make their opinion known about mental health provision in Macclesfield and East Cheshire. Who knows maybe it will be thing single thing that saves mental health in patient availability from disappearing in our town.
One thing is for certain, sitting and slating the man for his previous decisions will prove of no benefit at all. Believe me, if you or someone close to you ends up in need of in patient mental health support, you’ll certainly miss it then.
When someone is in crisis, being near their friends and family can make all the difference!
Sheila Kirk: Working alongside two neighbouring constituency MPs, this could work. Good luck Mr Rutley Holly Nettle: This seems a good idea, better than moving Macclesfield entire inpatient adult mental health care provision to Chester!
Liz Regan: I wouldn’t hold your breath
Sharon Pollard: We’ll see!
