Health firm cook up storm for a charitable cause

A HEALTHCARE firm is gearing up for a month of fundraisin­g.

Staff at Ashfield Healthcare Communicat­ions in Macclesfie­ld, is aiming to win a corporate challenge and raise money for East Cheshire Hospice.

Each team will be given a £100 loan to generate as much money as possible for their chosen charity, which provides care and support for adults facing life -limiting illnesses.

Staff at the firm have already more than doubled their money, with thanks to ‘The Great Ashfield Bake Off’, which raised £250.

But the company has a host of events happening throughout the month, including cake sales, donut days, staff soup and toastie treats and a raffle, which they hope to boost funds further.

Alongside these events some members of the team have also signed up to take on a ‘catwalk challenge’ - modelling at the ‘Fashion & Fizz’ fashion show at Peakside House, in Tytheringt­on tomorrow (Thursday, May 24). The ‘Fashion & Fizz’ event has been organised with the support of local businesses including local fashion retailer ‘Moulina’ and ‘Simply Scrummy’ who are supplying canapés.

Georgina Cruse, account executive at Ashfield Healthcare Communicat­ions, has been leading the team’s efforts and said it is a great opportunit­y to help a worthwhile cause.

She said: “The East Cheshire Hospice Corporate Challenge is a great opportunit­y to bring all our Macclesfie­ld employees together to support such a deserving local charity. It’s great to work for a company that really cares about the local community and is supportive of our charitable efforts. East Cheshire Hospice has a really positive impact on people around our region who are facing extremely tough situations, and we’re glad to be supporting their valuable work.”

April Green, key relationsh­ips manager for East Cheshire Hospice, said the charity is pleased to have the support of the Macclesfie­ld company .

She added: “The Corporate Challenge is a fun event that is great for team-building and firing up colleagues’ competitiv­e spirits. We’re thrilled to have Ashfield on board – and seeing everything they have planned we are certain that this will be a successful initiative.”
