Charities urged to sign up for pet store support

A PET store is set to give £500,000 to animal charities around the UK.

Pets at Home, which has a shop in Macclesfie­ld, is celebratin­g the anniversar­y of its VIP Club, which converts points into donations called Lifelines.

To mark the occasion animal charities which receives the most votes from customers by May 31, will be given a cash sum and a Lifeline donation.

One national charity will be given £50,000 and £50,000 of lifelines, then one charity within each store’s region will get £5,000 with £2,500 of Lifelines. A second will get £2,500 with £2,500 of Lifelines and a third will win £1,000 in cash with £1,000 of Lifelines. Ten runners up in each region will get £250 from Lifelines.

Lynn Woodward, from Pets at Home said she was happy to be working with customers to help charities carry out their work.

She said: “We’re so proud that our customers are able to use their purchasing power to support the great work these animal charities do up and down the country, as well as locally via the fantastic Humane Education Society.

“We’d love for our local cause to be among the winners that secure a share of the £500,000 that’s up for grabs and encourage our customers and Macclesfie­ld animal lovers alike to vote to support their favourite charities before 31st May.”
