Alternative accommodation offer

-

CHESHIRE East Council said ‘every effort’ is being made to help care home management staff.

Councillor Janet Clowes, cabinet member for adult social care and integration, said ‘alternative accommodation’ has also been offered to current residents.

She said: “We are aware of the ongoing issues in relation to Lyme Green Hall Residential Care Home, a privately-run care home near Macclesfield.

“Our team of specialist staff has been involved in all aspects of care within the home, working closely with the CQC, in order to deal with the concerns raised.

“The team has made every effort to help management get this home back on an even footing but it is the responsibility of the management of the home to ensure that it meets all the criteria required for running a safe environment for res- idents. There are 22 residents at the home and this council has offered suitable alternative accommodation for any individuals who may wish to transfer to a different home.

“We are in touch with their families to offer reassurance that all steps are being taken to ensure that safety and care for residents is maintained.

“The council continues to work with the CQC, care providers and partners to maintain the highest possible standard of care for our older and vulnerable residents and, wherever there are concerns about standards and quality of care, the council will activate an immediate and robust action plan to work with the care home management and staff to address any issues.”

The spokesman added: “But this can only succeed with the full cooperation and commitment of the home and its staff and, as in the case of Lyme Green Hall, our mu l t i - d i s c i p l i n a r y approach, with partners, ensures that the care of the residents remains paramount.”
