Run fundraiser set to bubble with fun
A FUN, family day out is promised this weekend at the Bubble Rush 2018 – one of the most popular fundraising events in the East Cheshire Hospice calendar.
Described as more of a fun run than a race, the 5k event will take place this Saturday at Alderley Park and promises to be even bigger and better than previous years.
There will be four Bubble Stations around the 5k course, each with a large foam cannon pumping out coloured bubbles ensuring lots of fun for all.
One family gearing themselves up for the day are the Bullivent-Hughes family from Gawsworth.
Mum, Gemma, said the combination of fun with bubbles and a 5k walk is a powerful mix for her family.
“My ten-year-old son Ethan was gutted when we couldn’t do it last year and he’s very excited to join a few of his pals in being able to get thoroughly drenched and all for a good cause,” she said.
Also joining in will be three-year-old Sienna who, like the rest of the family, is also a Bubble Rush novice.
“I’m really looking forward to having a great family day out,” said Gemma who will be continuing her fundraising activity for the hospice in July when she takes part in the London to Paris bike ride.
“Somehow I reckon running through bubbles will be a lot easier than my bike adventure!”
Adult tickets are now available at £25, with child tickets priced at £12.50 and children under four years getting in free.
As the entrance fee only covers the cost of the event, ‘bubblers’ are being encouraged to also raise at least £30 of sponsorship.
The event starts with the pink wave at 10.30am followed by the blue wave at 11.30am.
Tickets are available on the East Cheshire Hospice website www. eastcheshire hospice.org. uk/bubble rush18.
