Bolly hit back at winless Barrow

BOLLINGTON returned to winning ways this weekend with a comprehens­ive six-wicket victory against league strugglers Barrow, who are yet to register a win this season.

After winning the toss and electing to bowl, Ward struck within the first over, removing McClemment­s for 0 caught by Longhorn.

The same partnershi­p struck again the over after, Ward and Longhorn combining to reduce the visitors to 8-2.

Barrow fought back, adding a further 66 runs before Ward (3-36) took his final wicket of the afternoon.

Young Toby Pipps (1-31) removed Barrow skipper Ogilby for 0 as the visitors passed 100.

A handy late partnershi­p took Barrow to a challengin­g score of 182, Yaksender (1-56) taking Bollington’s final wicket of the afternoon.

In reply, Bollington made little work of chasing the required total as they brought up 50 without loss within the first 10 overs.

Hough lost his wicket for 24 having been caught down legside closely followed by Henshall for 27.

Longhorn fell for 3 as Bollington were reduced to 3 wickets, but the in form Yaksender and Ward combined to produce a match winning partnershi­p as they took the scores to 150.

Ward fell for 49 which saw Cross (16*) to the crease, whom alongside Yaksender saw home a comfortabl­e victory carrying his bat for 50.

Bollington look to carry keep their winning momentum as they travel to Upton this Saturday.
