Pupils put taste buds to test at curry house
PUPILS from a primary school went to a new restaurant to sample their culinary delights.
Year 1 and 2 children from Broken Cross Primary School, in Macclesfield, travelled with teachers to Paprika Dining.
The class had recently been learning about India and the trip was a treat to end the topic.
The restaurant which specialises in Indian cuisine opened recently on Park Green.
Some of the kids had never tried curries before so they had the chance to test their taste buds.
During their visit they watched chefs prepare curries, naans and rice, as well as watching them use a real Tandoori oven.
After that pupils were able to grill them about how they make their dishes and what spices they use to give them their flavour.
After all that hard work they were then able to sample the food the chefs had made for them.
Pupils and staff tried a variety of dishes such as chicken korma, rice, chicken tikka masala, and a lot of nann.
Lauren Frame, a teacher at Broken Cross Primary, said it was a fantastic trip and thanked the staff for giving the children the opportunity to get out into the community.
She said: “The children absolutely loved it and they ate their body weight in naan bread.
“We had been studying about India and this really rounded off well.”
She added: “Staff at the restaurant really looked after us and there was a real community feel about it.” the topic
