UNDER 14s clinch the NorthWest Champions League Cup with a 1-0 win against Connahs Quay Academy to cap an ‘outstanding’ season.
Players from Tytherington Juniors Under 14 football club were quite literally jumping for joy after toppling Connahs Quay Academy to win the NorthWest Champions League trophy held in Manchester recently.
The triumphant Under 14s team sent their supporters into delirium as they ran out 1-0 victors at St Bedes College in Manchester thanks to a goal from Aiden Butterworth.
The cup success capped off a fantastic campaign for the boys, who were crowned League Champions by winning the Stockport Metro League with 16 wins 1 draw and only 1 defeat. Added to their League win, they also won the League Cup, beating Droylsden 4-2 in the final.
In May they represented Macclesfield in a football tournament in Newquay and were unlucky to lose in the final, but bounced back to winning ways in June by winning the Edgerton Tournament in Knutsford, to complete a tremendous Quadruple!!
“The boys have been outstanding all season, showing skill, commitment, passion and great teamwork. We have a positive approach to coaching which is all about progression and development of the players and the team. We also have to give special thanks to our team sponsor this year VP Engineering Ltd who have helped us achieve our successes.”, said manager Gaz Butterworth.
“Its a great achievement by Gaz and the coaches and all the boys,” added Club Chairman Sam Fregapane.
