Tally is too tall for Prestbury

PRESTBURY travelled to Disley and were unable to chase down the hosts’ total.

The home side won the toss and decided to bat, Cameron Graham striking early when Adam Phillips caught Banner for 8.

But Scully and Reynolds took the score to 105 for Disley, their partnershi­p broken when Aqeel Ahmed had Scully caught by Finlay Calder for 72.

Disley lost another wicket when Alex Calder, making his debut, bowled Richie for 8, but the score had moved on to 156 by the time Clarke was run out by Max Cowley Jones for 9.

Alex Calder got a second wicket when Wettisingn­e was stumped by wicketkeep­er Adam Phillips for 3, 158 for 5, but Reynolds got his 50 and, supported by Potter, closed the innings at 198 off 45 overs with Reynolds 69 not out and Potter 20 not out.

Prestbury wicket takers were Graham 1 for 43, Ahmed 1 for 56, and Calder 2 for 45 off 10 overs.

After tea, Prestbury openers Phillips and Ben McKeever were soon out – Phillips 2, McKeever 0.

Ahmed and Tom Livesley took the score on to 28, Livesley looking more in touch this week only to be caught superbly by the sub fielder for 16.

Graham and Ahmed took the score to 48 but Ahmed got a dubious decision and was given out LBW for 13 and with the score at 61 Graham was out for 23.

Wickets fell quickly – Cameron Kirkland (8), Cowley Jones (0), Sam Gilding (4), F Calder (0), A Calder (0) and the side were all out for 73, leaving Abi Biswas 1 not out.

On Thursday Prestbury went to Langley in the second round of the Plate.

Langley posted a good total of 172 off 20 overs but Prestbury chased down the tally with one ball to spare, getting 173 for 7.

They face Wilmslow in the next round on Thursday at Prestbury, all welcome the bar will be open.
