BOLLINGTON continued their form with a comprehens­ive five wicket victory against Urmston this weekend.

With the hosts winning the toss and choosing to bowl, they struck immediatel­y, Ward removing Chris Turner for 0. The wickets continued to fall thanks to tidy bowling from Jake Dickinson (2-20) who removed Turner and Jackson in successive overs to leave the host well in control after 15 overs at 40-3.

Ward and Horsfield (1-20) kept it tight in the middle order to frustrate the visitors as Ward (3-33) took a further 2 wickets as well as a fingertip run out to leave the hosts in control at 97-7.

Bollington took their final wicket of the afternoon thanks to Whitehouse (1-31) to restrict the visitors to 130 of their 50 overs.

Initially, Bollington made hard work of the run chase, losing wickets steadily as Henshall departed for 2 closely followed by Hough for 25 and Ward for 0 victory looked in doubt in the early stages with the scores at 31-3.

Longhorn and Cross composed the Bolly innings, steadying the innings and carried them forward to victory with a sensible batting display, before Longhorn fell for 25 with Bolly well in control. Yaksender was the next man in who added 17 to the scores before loosing his wicket with the scores at 112-5. Cross (30*) and Dickinson (12*) ensured that Bolly took the full 25 points.

Bollington take the short journey to Macclesfie­ld for a highly anticipate­d local derby this weekend.
