THE Fermain Academy achieves an ‘Outstanding’ report from Ofsted (Express, July 25) Hazel Beaumont: Fantastic. Finally ‘every child matters’. Well done. Elle Vuitton: Credit to this head and his team and all their students. Val Fearon: Fantastic to read this. Acknowledgement for the school, its management, and the kids that are in their capable hands. They should be applauded. Semina Thomas: What a fantastic job you are doing. We are very lucky to have this school on our doorstep. Karen Moss: Well done! What a wonderful school. Zoe Marie Oakes: Fantastic Fermain. Anna Swindells: Amazing school.

MACCLESFIELD is suffering from ‘lack of investment’ (Express, July 25) Patricia Halloran: Shops are not the answer. The internet is killing high street shopping and will continue to do so. Town centres, what they are used for and how to get people to visit them, if that’s what’s desired, need a complete rethink. Jon Stockton: There won’t be a town centre soon. Just The Grosvenor Shopping Centre trying to hold it together. It needs saving, new ideas, culture, family and entertainment. Nice to sit and have a coffee near St Michaels church, other than that, goodbye town centre. There’s money to be made if built right. Gayle Parks: Lower the rents in the town centre to make them more affordable for local businesses to stay in the town centre would be a good start. Helen Sleigh: The answer is not developing new areas, it’s supporting local businesses. We have some wonderful examples in the town! Regenerate older buildings/flatten them and put up something fit for purpose and enable independent shops to use the space. Don’t detract from what we have already.
