Single mum who changed career lands top honour
ASINGLE mum who changed career late in life is celebrating after winning a prestigious award.
Kate Fox, from Macclesfield, had worked for more than 20 years managing hotels across the world.
However, after giving birth to her daughter she left her high-flying career and focused on her family.
The ambitious mumof-one then went back to school and completed a course in computer science at Macclesfield College, gaining a first class degree in design from Manchester Metropolitan University.
By combining her newfound skills with her background in management, in 2008 she started a design and marketing firm, Fox Graphics Design & Marketing, from her living room in Sutton.
Since then the company has flourished and Kate has now received the award for Best Marketing Agency in Chesh- ire at the Business Innovators Awards.
She said: “I was surprised and honoured to receive an award as I was not expecting it.
“My company has diversified over the past 18 months and we have gone into different areas of business which, I believe, has contributed to our success and a major factor in the decision to this award being made. I would like to say thank you to all my clients, associates and friends who have helped me over the past years and here’s to the next 10 or so.”
Fox Graphics Design & Marketing, based on Winterton Way in Macclesfield, works with companies to help them grow their business.
Kate said: “I use my years of knowledge and experience to create branding and visuals that convey the right messages to the right people, help you plan and execute your marketing campaigns, all while letting you do what you do best, run your company.
“We can take care of everything from brand- ing your company, to creating a stand out exhibition display, to even managing your marketing start to finish.”
After winning the award Kate says her focus is on improving the company and expanding overseas. She said: “Future plans are to develop business with adventurous decision makers that are driven to success in their fields.
“We are stretching out to the USA and Global business community to develop in the next 10 years.”
