As Macc make push in Two North

-

SEPTEMBER 8 v Chester

SEPTEMBER 22 v Leicester Lions OCTOBER 6 v Otley Kick-off at 3pm. The other semi-final of the Cheshire Cup was between Sale and Caldy but I cannot find a score as I pen these notes, but maybe an opportunity for Priory Park to host a cup final later in the season especially if it is Chester v Sale, which I suggest is most likely. Watch this space. Back to Two North and it really is going to be a strong, competitive league this season with Hull Ionians – relegated from National One – looking to bounce straight back with Otley (who we play early October) having recruited well along with Fylde, Stourbridge, Sedgley Park, Hinckley and Tynedale, so all in all much mouth watering rugby to look forward to and with your support on the touchline we can ensure that Macclesfield Rugby is right up there with the best. Not much more to report this week but hopefully as the season kicks off on Saturday I will be able to give you details of not only the 1st XV but also details of the games played by the Lions, 3rds and 4th XV’s.

For those travelling to South Leicester on Satur- day, they play at Welford Road, Wigston Magna, Leicester LE18 1TE, and from my location in Tytherington it is approximately 84 miles so allow a good two hours to travel.

GAMES FOR THE FIRST WEEKEND OF THE SEASON AS FOLLOWS:

1st v South Leicester – Away – 3.pm. 2nd v Lymm – Away 3rd v Wilmslow 2 – Home 4th v Crewe and Nantwich 3 – Home
