- BILL LIVESLEY

PRESTBURY travelled to Stockport Georgians, who had already gained promotion to the County League.

However, the home side wanted a 25-point win to clinch the championship.

Prestbury captain Steve Oldfield won the toss and decided to bat, opening with new player George Brindley and Cameron Kirkland.

They took the score to 11 when Brindley was caught for 6.

Aqeel Ahmed joined Kirkland, who was out for 5, 17 for 2.

Cameron Graham fell without scoring, LBW, 17 for 3 and Oldfield joined Ahmed and took the score to 26 until Aqeel was bowled for 16.

Kav Shanmuggan came into bat and with Oldfield took the score on to 61 when Oldfield was out for a steady 29.

At the same score, Shanmuggan was LBW for 4, so two new batsmen, Tom Livesley and Abi Biswas, put on 18 before Livesley was caught for 4.

Biswas fell for 16 and he was followed by Paul Butterworth and Archie Thorneycroft, both without scoring, leaving Alex Calder 0 not out as the Prestbury innings closed at 81 all out.

After tea, Stockport Georgians went into bat but lost an early wicket when N Bailey was caught Brindley off the bowling of Butterworth for 7.
