Hair today but gone tomorrow
ASCHOO L G I R L found it a snip to raise money for a worthy cause when she had a drastic charity haircut.
Faye Butler, nine, from Tytherington, had her long blonde locks lopped off at stylists Lindsay Howard.
It was part of a bid to raise money for the Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.
Her hair will also be used to make a wig and so far she has raised £500
Dad Dan, 43, who works in finance, said: “Faye is really chuffed with it. The new style was a bit of a shock at first but she has got used to it now.
“Her hair was a big deal to her but she thought she’d outgrown it and she heard about the charity, which inspired her and gave her the push to have it cut.
“She was very nervous beforehand and had a bit of a wobble because she had had beautiful long hair for years.
“But she didn’t want to let anyone down with all the money that had been pledged. We are all very proud of her.”
Faye, who attends Marl- borough Primary, lives on Orme Crescent with Dan, mum Kate and big sister Polly, 10.
She added: “I was getting a bit fed up with having long hair and thought it would be nice if somebody else who had not been very well could enjoy it.
“I was nervous about getting it cut off but knew it was for a good cause.”
And Faye will be continuing her good work as she has her sights set on getting a Blue Peter badge.
Dan said: “She is determined to get one. Faye has done a litter pick in Anglesey so we will compile what she has done and send it to Blue Peter.”
