Injury altered Jules’ outlook

-

MACCLESFIELD Town defender Zak Jules admits he’s got a better appreciation for football now that he’s had to overcome an injury.

A serious hamstring injury kept the 21-year-old out for quite a while, and he’s excited to show everybody what he is capable of now he’s back to full fitness.

“When you spend that amount of time on the sidelines, it makes you realise how lucky you are to be out there playing football, as well as how much you can miss it. I don’t want to feel that again,” he said.

“The injury unfortunately set me back quite a bit, but I’m here now. I just want to return to playing regular football and get back fighting fit for Macclesfield.

“There is a group of lads here who all want to prove a point, and what a way to do that by staying in this division.

“I want to be a part of that fight and I want to be a part of the future plans at this football club.”

Meanwhile, Macclesfield have released a statement after there were issues with some supporters getting into the stadium for the match against Mansfield on Saturday.

The club said: “Macclesfield Town are aware that some of our supporters experienced issues in being admitted to the One Call Stadium ahead of our Sky Bet League Two game with Mansfield Town on Saturday.

“We would like to place on record that we are taking this very seriously and as such, are currently liaising with all relevant parties.

“The safety of all our supporters is paramount to us, whether at the Moss Rose or on our travels and you can be assured that this matter will be investigated fully.

“If you can help us with this, then please email press@mtfc.co. uk in the strictest confidence.”
