Thieves target homes

“A lot of customers say they see the shop as more like a community hub. And they are definitely a creative and talented bunch.

“All the pigs were lovingly made so it was difficult selecting the best.”

The entries were displayed in the shop window alongside dragons and mini-Terracotta Warriors.

Lynda’s next project is to make blankets for homeless people and for passengers waiting at the nearby bus station.

She is appealing for people to provide knitted or crocheted squares measuring six inches to help her create the blankets.

The squares can be dropped of at the shop. POLICE have appealed for witnesses after thieves targeted homes in Disley.

A Scott bike was stolen from a shed on Buxton Road West some time on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 5.

Those responsible had removed a panel from the garden fence in order to gain access to the property.

On the same afternoon there was an attempt to break into a garage on Coppice Avenue, which failed but caused a large amount of damage.

Police say that officers attempted to speak to two ‘suspicious males’ that night at Disley train station but they ran off.

A Whyte bike was left behind and an appeal has been made to find its owner.

Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting IML number 313914 (Buxton Lane West) or 313897 (Coppice Avenue).
