Grundy on top of Sunday comp

A SUNDAY Stableford at Styal was won by Andy Grundy with a neat haul of 41 points taking him home from Anthony Guy 39 and Jeffrey Chadwick 38.

The latest Styal Seniors Winter League Stableford­s was led in by Paul Lawday with 40 points from Alan Burns and Stuart Neil, both 39, and Geoff Beardsell, John Parr, Gordon Hamilton, Keith Compson and David Hollick, all 38.

Winter League action for Styal ladies had Helen Billington on top with 24 points from Enid Laverty 23 and Lynsey Forsythe 22.

Macclesfie­ld’s men played a 12-hole Disco and rocking to the top of the leaderboar­d with 85 points were Gareth Robinson, Mike Taylor, Roger Kirby and Rick Kershaw, one more than Andy Powell, Chris Priestley and Pail and Ollie Tovee.

Stableford action at Avro saw Neil Flood win a cpo on 42 points from Kevin Barker and Derek Jones.

A midweek Stableford at Avro saw Michael Thornber on top with 37 points, one more than Neil Flood and Michael McDonagh.

It was close in a BB Stableford at Davenport with T Mottershaw and B Green winning a cpo on 31 points from P Housley and L Maxfield and just a point back were S Lowe and C Burgess, M Upton and P McDonagh, T Slinger and N Potts and the legendaryT­revor Glover and M Will.

The latest Winter League Stableford at Shrigley Hall was a close affair with Steve Shanahan winning a cpo on 37 points from Michael Gibbons, one more than Richard Burrow and Mark Brierley.
