Could you be the first £25k winner?

-

A NEW car, the holiday of a lifetime or a mega shopping spree – what would you choose if you won £25,000?

That’s the potential prize up for grabs in the East Cheshire Hospice weekly lottery which has just increased its rollover jackpot from a potential £10,000 to a staggering £25,000.

Lottery administrator, Tara Ward, who took over the role earlier this year, has been trying to find ways of making the Lottery as attractive as possible and so, from next week, the potential top prize has more than doubled.

Tara said: “We have more than 6,000 members of the lottery who take part every week and it would be great to see those numbers grow.

“I’d love to make that phone call to tell someone they’ve just won £25,000.”

The Hospice needs £7,500 every day to keep going.

The lottery has raised around £1,000 a day towards the cost of providing Hospice care to patients, their families and carers since it began in 1995.

Since the Lottery began there have been more than 25,000 winners and, apart from the weekly guaranteed £1,000 top prize, there are 22 other cash sums - the £200 second prize which is rolled over if it is not won, one at £100 and 20 winners of £10.

The weekly winner of the £1,000 jackpot is chosen at random with a different volunteer performing the allimportant task of pressing the button.

Lottery income is one of the most sustainable funding sources for the Hospice, bringing in regular monies on a guaranteed basis.

“Our Lottery been running for 25 years and we have kept our entries at just £1.

“Every penny raised goes straight to the Hospice and makes such a massive difference to our patients and their families. It really is a win-win,” says Tara.

“And it’s such an easy way to support us on a regular basis,” she continued.

“People can play online by filling in a form and we also accept telephone applications or via a direct debit at just £4.34 a month.”

Winning numbers are published on the website.
