Rossendale Trust extends its reach
A CHARITY that supports adults with learning difficulties has expanded its employment scheme.
The Rossendale Trust gives care and support to tenants following a model of care known as Supported Living.
WorkTaste has always offered a taste of work to individuals with learning and physical disabilities, by offering work placements with companies and organisations in and around Macclesfield.
The charity says that it has become apparent that there is also an urgent need to support individuals who are currently in employment.
In providing this service, the aim is to make it easy for companies to retain staff who may need in-work support in their job roles.
The project is taking a broader role, working with employers and employees who may need some direct coaching to be confident in their work - not just those with disabilities.
This may involve some adjustments in the working environment, a different approach to learning or a new routine of actions.
WorkTaste Manager Andrea Wright said: “We provide the employer with a tailor-made support package, which includes a job coach along with achievable learning and development objectives.
“This is a great benefit to the employer as it increases the likelihood of that individual carrying out their job more productively and effectively.
“Not only that: the scheme is 100% funded by the Department for Works and Pensions (DWP), so our support, monitoring, advice and job coaches will cost your business nothing.”
