Dugouts to uproot section of supporters

-

MACCLESFIELD Town have provided fans with an update regarding the plans to place new dugouts inside the Moss Rose stadium.

In a lengthy statement, the club said: “Earlier in the summer, we advised supporters a number of plans were under consideration regarding the placement of our new dugouts.

“Under EFL regulations, we had to increase the capacity of the previous structures and proceeded to look at a variety of factors.

“We outlined three potential plans and are now in a position to confirm that the new structures will be placed within the London Road Terrace, underneath the Main Stand.

“This proved to be the location which provided the best-fit solution and work is now underway on this, in readiness for Saturday’s first home game of the season.

“What this does mean is that the terraced area between the players’ tunnel and the steps to the right of the Bollington Insurance Stand (as you look at it) will be closed.

“We are aware that this will inconvenience some supporters who have previously stood in this area (some for a great many years) and we would like to sincerely apologise to them for this.

“Ultimately however, this proved to be the best way to meet EFL requirements and as such, we had to make this difficult decision.

“We would also like to advise that the seated Bollington Insurance Stand remains unaffected by this, as does the remaining areas of the London Road Terrace.”
