CHANGE4LIFE : 10 minute Shake-up IF you’re looking for fun and free things for kids to do this summer, why not have a look at the Change4Life: 10 Minute Shake-Up.

NHS Change4Life and Disney have teamed up to bring children new shake up games inspired by films such as Toy Story 4, Incredibles 2 and Disney’s The Lion King and Frozen.

These 10-minute bursts of fun will really get your kids moving and count towards the 60 active minutes that they need every day.

The Change4Life website is not only great for activities, it also shows you swaps and alternatives to the food you’re currently eating and how it can be healthier, such as swapping chocolate cereal for wholegrain cereals.

There are also recipes that you can use to make healthy meals and snacks that everyone can enjoy.

There is also some advice on how to check if your child is overweight and what to do if they are.

The food facts on the website also highlight what to look out for when you do your weekly shop: whether it be sugar, salt or saturated fats, it is important to understand food labels.

We know kids love sugary things but too much sugar can lead to serious diseases like type 2 diabetes and heart disease, which people are getting at a younger age than ever before.

An easy option for portion control is to use a smaller plate which can trick our minds that the meal looks bigger which can help to prevent over-eating.

A great way to check your food is by using the free food scanner app, which brings your food labels to life and shows you exactly what’s in your food or drink.
