mixed results it produced initially.

Joseph Connor: All went OK in Poynton! Our day changed from Tuesday to Friday and even two weeks in a row of black bins and three week gap between silver bins very few houses had extra rubbish out.

Patricia Brown: Missed four silver bins on Rudyard Close that hadn’t been emptied for three weeks.

Told one of the men who said he’d tell the driver but they didn’t come back for them.

Got to wait up to five days for them to be emptied. Fingers crossed they come back!

Rick Bayliss: No problem on Gawsworth Road. Two extra black bags, and a very heavy green bin emptied. Thanks guys. Mark Stockton: More cuts! “We are using fewer vehicles over an extended working day in order to reduce operating costs.” Feel sorry for the guys collecting!

Deborah Slaney: We have been missed it’s over three weeks since we have had any collections of recycle or ordinary rubbish, there are 35 flats it’s a complete joke bet we won’t get a refund.

BUT readers were impressed with charity Reach Out and Recover and members’ bid to clean up Macclesfield.

Barbara Allen: What a brilliant idea. Great work, make our town proud. When I’ve returned from Canada over the years, the first thing that greets me is litter. So different from the citizens of Canadian towns.

People are proud to do a stint keeping their streets and countryside free from litter.

Alexis Jackson: Brilliant! Really need to clean up Macc. Not just the town centre. I pick up litter all the time.
