Safety firm gives backing to raising more cash for elderly

-

A CHARITY has welcomed a new business supporter as it bids to generate extra revenue.

Age UK Cheshire East, based at Henderson Street, Macclesfield, now counts Wear4Work Ltd among its partners.

The firm, which is based in Macclesfield and supplies work and safety clothes, signed up following a business breakfast held by the charity in conjunction with the North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce.

Age UK began the scheme, which involves companies making an annual contribution, to help diversify income in the current challenging economic environment.

Richard Woollam, from Wear4Work, on Wallbrook Avenue, said: “As a Macclesfield company we are delighted to support this fantastic independent charity and its mission to improve the quality of life for all older people within our very own community. “It is an organisation that impacts locally, but has limited financial resources and in my view any charity that supports people living with dementia and memory problems is a winner and needs all our support.”

Damon Taylor, Age UK Cheshire East’s chief executive, added: “We welcome on Richard and his colleagues from Wear4Work Limited on board.

“All the money we raise through initiatives such as this stays local, supporting some of the more vulnerable older members of our communities in Cheshire East.

”Just like the business sector, we have had to evolve how we pay for our services, and having the support of colleagues in the local business community will help to ensure that we can continue to deliver our vital services to our local older people.”
