Under 13s shine in spotlight with super seven
MACCLESFIELD TOWN LADIES FC
MTLFC U13S .................... 7 VALE JUNIORS U13S ..... 0
WITH older teams not playing this week the spotlight fell onto the under 13s for their match against Vale Juniors with the title at stake for the winners.
Macc were up for it from the start and took an early lead when Tatiana Pollard opened the scoring. Rosie Hague continued her impressive recent form as she added another two goals including a spectacular left foot strike. Macc never released its control of the game with the defence keeping the Vale forwards at bay.
Despite impressive performances from all players it was the youngest player in the team, Annabel Simons, that got girl of the game with a very impressive four goals.
Having clinched the Mid Cheshire Under 13s Dane title they now move onto the Champions League for the remainder of the season. Congratulations and very well done girls.
MTLFC U14S .................... 1 SANDBACH UTD U13S .. 1
MACC under 14s produced another solid display to make it 3 games unbeaten with a 1-1 draw against Sandbach in a game where Macc dominated possession but struggled to create clear cut chances. Macc took the lead through a great finish from Holly Hurst but with only 10 players Macc had to work hard with the numerical disadvantage.
With the defence marshalled superbly by Carrie Copson Sandbach were limited to only one clear chance all game which they took well to secure the 1-1 draw that was harsh on the Macc team.
With Macc on the front foot all game chances went just wide and with several last ditch interceptions from Sandbach it was just one of those days for the Macc attack.
Girl of the game went to Lil Mitchell who has been working hard and improving all season and this week produced her best performance of the season.
MTLFC U10S V CREWE U10S
AFTER what seemed like an age, Saturday morning football restarted this week with a tough opening game against Crewe. After going behind the girls battled hard and were rewarded with an equaliser.
There was no let up in the second half and again Macc went behind before another well deserved second goal.
Big welcome and a brilliant start for our newest team members Abbie Maxwell and Sadie Burden playing their first games this week and great goals from Mia King and Isla Scott.
MTLFC U10S V MIDDLEWICH U10S
KEEN to get the first win of the new part of the season the girls went into battle again, this time against Middlewich Town. It was another difficult start and again Macc found themselves 2-0 behind at half time. The girls picked themselves up and continued to create chances scoring 3 goals without reply. Some tired legs on the pitch left the door open to an equaliser and the game finished with neither side able to gain an advantage. A huge thanks to both Daisy Reid and Molly Hewitt who helped our opponents field a full team. There wer 2 goals for Evie Brocklehurst and a first goal for Anna Stanleyore to follow.
MACC SILKS U9S V
THE first half saw some excellent footwork from girl of the game Elsie Wall and her team mates who battled hard throughout.
Cuddington and Sandiway had a strong team and managed to bag two goals in the first half.
With Maddison Barlow and Izzy Dawson in midfield showed gritty determination throughout the second half saw another goal from Cuddington and
Sandiway before Elsie
Wall managed to score a terrific goal for the Silks not long before the final whistle was blown.
MACC SILKS U9’S V CREWE U9S
ANOTHER excellent game for the Silks who worked brilliantly together as a team. Girl of the game Ffion Barlow scored a smashing goal in no time.
THE opposition played well but couldn’t manage to get past Milly Sordillo and her super defending skills.
Anja Thompson and new signing Freya Pettener worked really hard in Midfield which allowed Elsie Wall the opportunity to score two superb goals. Fantastic team work and confidence from our young girls.
