‘Not on my watch’ says furious boss

-

MARK Kennedy revealed he was ‘furious’ with what he saw following Macclesfield Town’s 2-0 defeat to Morecambe last Tuesday.

The Silkmen came up short in the match at the Globe Arena, with Toumani Diagouraga and Aaron Wildig scoring in the first half for Morecambe to condemn the visitors to defeat.

Kennedy was far from pleased with what he saw in the match, and made his thoughts perfectly clear after his side failed to take anything from the game.

“To say I’m angry is an understatement, nobody likes losing so I’m disappointed. I’m furious with what I’ve seen, some of these things are not happening on my watch but I won’t stand here and call out any of my players because I understand the tough times they’ve been through this season,” he said.

“The end product in the final third was poor they’ve all had good chances to score and their keeper didn’t make a save till the 83rd minute!”

“I love the group and I love working with them and we are going to need each other. There is a long way to go and we’ll get there, I went into the dressing calm because if I didn’t, I would’ve ended up knocking someone out.”

“It was horrendous but, they dealt with it better than us and that’s what made me really angry.

“We need seven lads to play a seven out of ten game to win these games of football.

“If you’ve got six lads below that then you lose the game, tonight that’s what we had.

“Morecambe deserved the win; at no point did we look like we were getting anything from the game. It was a chance to go five points clear of them and we didn’t do that.

“Things will come eventually; we’ll lose but more importantly we’ll win games. In every game we’ve played we’ve had opportunities to score goals and we haven’t taken them.

“The support doesn’t go unnoticed and we are very grateful. We’re not in a crisis but we need to stick together. We will win games of football ultimately.”
