OUNG boffins learned all about the appliance of science, technology and engineering.
Pupils at St Gregory’s Primary, on Albert Road, Bollington, marked British Science Week with hands on activities.
Visitors from company Pfizer helped children to combine ingredients to make slime and there was also an introduction to coding.
Children created posters in a competition about the diversity of our planet, visited the Catalyst Science Museum, in Widnes, and there was a presentation about x-rays and other scans carried out by radiologists.
Finally, youngsters were told all about the work of oil rigs.
Headteacher John Daley said: “It was fascinating finding out about how these scans and x-rays work and what they tell us about what is going on inside our bodies.
“The children were engrossed in the world of oil extraction with slides and videos explaining how this most important of fossil fuels is extracted and used.
“All in all, the children have had a great scientifically educational week, delivered by Pfizer and parents working in those industries and organisations, and have learned and experienced a fabulous amount.”
PUPILS dressed as characters ranging from Frozen’s Elsa to little green aliens for World Book Day.
Youngsters got into the spirit of the occasion at Beech Hall School, Tytherington, with Where’s Wally, the
Incredible Hulk and the Gruffalo also making an appearance.
Prizes were given out for the best costumes and the aliens were among the winners.
