MACCLESFIE­LD ladies played for the Doris Neal Quaich and Jean Atheron provided the sting in the tail. Making a late first appearance in an 18 hole competitio­n, she overtook Myra Clark who beat Lindsay

Monk on a cpo for the runners-up spot.

The ladies Order of Merit leader is Alycia Sutton from Judy Mutter and Daisy

Ward. She is also top of the Eclectic table with nett 53 from Daisy Ward and Fran Wilbraham both 58 and Judy Mutter and Jill Hunter-Blench 59.

The Blackshaw Trophy for Macc’s men was a nerve jangler with five players locked on 40 points.

Getting the nod in the cpo was Dave Clewley from Paul Barber, Peter Ainsworth, Ken Rigby and Emyr Williams.

The Jubilee Vase at Alderley Edge was won by Jan Grundy with 41 points ahead of Logan Stone 39 and Gavin Ely 37.

Medal action for Alderley’s ladies saw Olivia Brewster in top spot with 71 from Jeam Walker 72 and Sue Kendrick 75.

The Bill Jones Trophy at Davenport saw Sam Johnson go clickety click in division oone, two less than Dave Waldron-Kelly.

Philip Griffiths topped division two with 69 and leading in division three was Jamie McHarg with a fine 65.

Medal action for Davenport ladies saw the divisions topped by Gail Hegarty 69, Pauline Hall 75 and Elaine Glover 78.

A singles Stableford at Mottram Hall needed a cpo on 41 points to see Adam Brindle beat off the challenge from Sean Smith and John Delaney.

The ‘major’ Rawsthorn Memorial Trophy at Prestbury had Oliver Wilson as the proud winner with 66, two less than Chris Bowden and Oliver Procter.

Prestbury ladies were in Stableford action and top of the divisions were Ellen Cail 37 and Karen Keen 38.points.

The Thursday Stableford at Shrigley Hall had Michael Chesters first past the post with 40 points, one more than James White and Don Farquharso­n.

The Saturday Stableford at Styal saw division one needing a cpo on 38 points to see Jonathan Dorsett first past the post from Charlie Ward.

Simon Elms was out on his own in division two with 39 points, five more than Ian Buckley, Michael Horan and Craig Knight. Next day Ryan Owen showed his class to win the Sunday Stableford with 38 points, one more than Luke Core, Chris Gibson, Khalil Musa and Andrew Martin

Styal ladies were also in Stableford mode with Mel Hill cruising to victory with 32 points from Joan Andrews 28 and Enid Laverty 26.
