Jail for man caught importing sex dolls
A PERVERT who caught importing child-like sex dolls has been jailed for a year.
Mark Carter, 58, from Bosley, was found to have eight of the dolls as well as indecent images of youngsters following a raid at his home on Stoneyfold Lane.
He was imprisoned at Chester Crown Court on Thursday, February 11, after he admitted six counts of importing obscene articles, one of possessing indecent images of children and one of possessing prohibited images of children.
The investigation into Carter began in October 2018 when Border Force officials at West Midlands Airport intercepted a child sex doll due to be delivered to an address in Bosley.
The package was withheld and reported to Cheshire Police who raided Carter’s home.
When searching the address officers recovered other dolls along with computer equipment found to contain a number of indecent images of children.
After the hearing Dave
Walton, from Cheshire Police’s online child abuse investigation team, said: “Whist this is an unusual crime, it emphasizes that we are committed to tacking those in society whose behaviour towards children is wholly unacceptable.
“The purchase of so many dolls indicates that Carter was not content with his initial purchases and his behaviour was escalating and he was becoming more specific in satisfying his needs.
“I hope that Carter’s conviction acts as a warning to other offenders.”
Carter was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for ten-years and handed a ten year sexual harm prevention order.
Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner David Keane said: “Crimes of this nature are particularly concerning.
“This case highlights some of the disturbing work that our officers have to deal with and I would like to thank all of the officers for their dedication.”
