Police appeal after sex attack
THE CCTV image of a man police would like to speak to following a sexual assault in Macclesfield has been released.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which happened to a teenager when she became separated from her friends in Hurdsfield.
A man aged 19 to 20 befriended the girl and walked off with her to Tinkers Wood, in Bollington, Cheshire, where the assault took place.
Afterwards she alerted a friend.
The man in the CCTV is described as white with a slight tan, slim and had brown hair with a fringe.
He wore a dark coloured Nike top, with a white swoosh across the chest, and dark joggers with pockets on the right hand leg.
Police say he could have had a silver chain or necklace, wore a dark coloured ‘snood’ style neck warmer and rode a grey mountain bike.
The attack happened on Saturday, February
27, some time between 8.11pm and 10pm.
DC Lee Ferris said: “We’ve made numerous enquiries into this incident and as part of our ongoing investigation, we have released a CCTV image of a man we believe may have vital information to help our investigation.
“I’d urge anyone who recognises him or had any information to contact us so they we can progress with our enquiries. I would also like to appeal directly to the man in the CCTV image to get in touch.”
