21bn reasons to thank jab heroes
MORNING everyone, how are we doing this week?
If, by any chance, you work for AstraZenica I apologise on behalf of the whole of humanity for those idiotic politicians within the EU.
Personally, I’d have them pushed out to sea but you can’t always have what you want.
Given that AZ, following their brilliant work in bringing one of the first two Covid vaccines to market, agreed to do so at cost (£3-60 per shot), one would have expected the heartfelt appreciation of governments everywhere (the Pfizer vaccine costs £15 per jab).
By their own estimation AZ gave up £21 billion in revenue to aid humanity in its fight with this pernicious pandemic and what has it brought them?
Unrelenting criticism from EU politicians who dithered and dawdled while other countries rolled up their sleeves and made ready.
To deflect growing public anger EU Leaders originally claimed the AZ vaccine was ineffective on the over-60’s group.
When that proved inaccurate they insisted the AZ vaccine caused blood clots, a claim we now know had no scientific validation.
Since then they have bullied and threatened AZ with all kinds of sanctions.
Not exactly the sort of thank you AZ bosses were expecting.
Sir John Bell, the Oxford Professor involved in the development of the AZ vaccine (who probably earns less than most MEP’s) said, “AstraZenica never had any credit for its generosity.”
In the face of EU criticism the AZ share price actually went down.
What a shabby way to treat a company forgoing profit to help save humankind.
So, ladies and gentlemen, if you work for AZ in Cheshire please convey our eternal gratitude for your company’s brilliant work and astounding generosity.
