Man follows woman from station then exposes self
AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a man followed a woman from Macclesfield train station and then exposed himself to her.
Police say the incident happened in the Peel Street area of the town on Friday, July 16, between 10.20pm and 10.30pm.
Officers believe the man first began tailing his victim at the train station, on Waters Green, and have issued a description of him.
He is said to be white, in his mid 30s, around 5ft 11in tall, of medium build, with short blond hair and small eyes.
He was wearing a blue t-shirt with white piping on the sleeves, and light blue jeans. Police have also released the CCTV image of a man they say may be able to help with their enquiries.
PC Phoebe Keen, of Macclesfield Local Policing Unit, said: “I would like to reassure the local community that this appears to have been an isolated incident and we have not received any reports of similar offences in or around the Macclesfield area.
“Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and we are committed we are doing everything we can to trace the person responsible.
“As part of our investigation we are appealing for anyone who was in the area and believes they may have seen the offender to get in touch.
“The same goes for anyone who thinks they may know who the offender is, or have dashcam or CCTV footage of him.”
Anyone with information or footage that may help can call police on 101 quoting reference number IML 1039382 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
