Two of ward’s three councillors spoke

-

As one of the three ward councillors for the Datchet, Horton and Wraysbury Ward in RBWM I am writing to correct the misrepresentation being made in some articles and by some letter writers (most recently on July 2) that there is only one councillor for this ward.

This letter stated that the voices of the ward residents were silenced at council by the closure motion on the ‘Neighbourhood Plan for Wraysbury and Horton’, because Cllr Larcombe did not speak. This is incorrect.

Whilst I would have preferred to hear any constructive comments that Cllr Larcombe may have made, he is only one of three ward councillors for Datchet, Horton and Wraysbury and the residents were well represented by Cllr Gary Muir (deputy mayor) and myself, Cllr David Cannon (lead member for public protection).

We represented our residents views by fully supporting them, by voting in favour of the Neighbourhood Plan that residents had voted for and in fact I seconded the motion after ensuring that the lead member, in his address, had clarified some points raised by residents.

I am very disappointed for Wraysbury and Horton residents, that Cllr Larcombe could not bring himself to vote for the motion to support his residents’ Neighbourhood Plan.

Cllr DAVID CANNON Conservative councillor for Datchet,

Horton and Wraysbury ward
