Scoreboard pressure counts against Littlewick in big defeat

Scoreboard pressure counted against Littlewick Green as they were bowled out for 170 chasing Peppard Stoke Row’s 331 in the Chilterns Championsh­ip. Peppard Stoke Row piled on the pressure as they made 331-7 from 45 overs, with A Watts top scoring with 128. Kirk Graham made 74 for Green in reply but they came up someway short and collected just six points.

■ Braywood won their first match of the season against Shinfield in the Chilterns League Championsh­ip, with the players taking a knee to highlight racial inequality before play.

Batting first Shinfield were bowled out for 132 in 36.2 overs, with Sardar making 61, and K Hafeez taking 3-29 for Braywood. In their reply Braywood reached 133 for the loss of three wickets in 28 overs.

■ Pinkneys Green kicked off their Chilterns and Mid Bucks Premiershi­p campaign with defeat at Monks Risborough.

Having elected to bat Monks Risborough managed 171-8 from their 40 overs, a par score which Green fell 18 runs short of. They were all out for 153 in the 39th over.

■ In the Chilterns and Mid Bucks League Division 1 Holyport comfortabl­y beat Winchmore Hill by 45 runs on Saturday.

Electing to bat having won the toss, Holyport made 181 runs before being bowled out in the 36th over, however, their inability to play out their overs didn’t come back to haunt them as Winchmore were skittled for 136 in 37.4 overs.

The best of Holyport’s efforts with the bat came from Bhavik Patel (54), while Adrian Mumtaz opened with 38 before being bowled by Rohit Srivastrav­a. The majority of Winchmore Hill’s runs came further down the order, but a fine early spell from Port’s Qadeer Rasool saw him finish with figures of 3-15.

■ Little Marlow won Saturday’s clash at Littlewick Green 2nds, bowling their hosts out for just 52 runs in Division 1.

Having posted a mammoth 257-5 from their 40 overs, Little Marlow exerted rather less energy in the field, restrictin­g Green to just 52 runs with U Islam taking 4-17.

T Rashid scored 114 not out for Marlow in the first innings.
