Matches resume with a blaze of goals after lockdown is lifted

W MAIDENHEAD BOYS & GIRLS FC Maidenhead Boys and Girls FC teams made a competitiv­e start to their postlockdo­wn matches.

The u18s Santos side drew 3-3 away with Fleet Town Colts Youth Raiders in EBFA Division 3.

But the u17s boys side lost 3-0 at home to AFC Whitchurch Anglers in Division 2.

Despite only having 10 players the u15s Colts side drew 3-3 with

Ashridge Park. Their goalscorer­s were Tejas Chahal, Justin Duffy and Josh Ewers as they fought back from 3-0 down. Tejas was player of the match. The u14s Sharks won 4-2 away at Whitegrove & Warfield FC Saints and the u13s Foxers won 6-3 at home to the Sandhurst Town Royals.

The u13s Panthers drew 4-4 with

Eversley & California Youth Bulls but the u12s Dragosn lost 9-2 to Woodley Wanderers and Youth Tigers. The u12s Jaguars were also beaten 8-1 by Rotherfiel­d United Hornets in their Division 2 match.

W THAMES VALLEY DEV LEAGUE Matches resumed in the Thames Valley Football Developmen­t League on Sunday after an easing of coronaviru­s lockdown restrictio­ns.

With grassroots and youth sports able to resume matches were played in all age ranges, with the Golden Eagles enjoying a convincing 13-0 win over Singh Sabha in u12s Division 1. This despite their goalkeeper pulling off some excellent saves. The Eagles goalscorer­s were Gabriel Cardoso, Tudor Moraru, Ashwin Jeyarajah, Raheem Angus and Jacob Moore.

In Division 1 there was a 3-2 win for Harefield United Youth away to Burnham Juniors Sabres Yellow. In the u11s developmen­t matches the Cookham Dean Dynamos beat the Cookham Dean Rebels 4-1 to move top of their group, one point ahead of their village rivals.

Elsewhere the Marish Wizards Reds were emphatic 14-0 winners over S4K Wolves and the Marish Wizards Whites drew 2-2 with Burnham Juniors Lynx White.

The Golden Eagles u15s maintained their excellent start to the season with a 7-0 win over Beaconsfie­ld Town Colts in the Wycombe and South Bucks Minor Football League. Kiraj Banwait, Sam Hopkins, Ibrahim

Khan, Elson Haxhaj, Shalok Basra and Hamid Mrehe scored their goals.
