Town slump to third consecutive league defeat
W THAMES VALLEY PREMIER LEAGUE Maidenhead Town slumped to a third consecutive league defeat as Reading City U23 emerged 2-1 winners in their Thames Valley Premier League clash.
Town have watched the pace setters run away from them as they now sit 12 points off top, having trailed leaders Finchampstead by just three points at the end of October.
They will, however, be hopeful of a swift turnaround in form as their next three opponents currently sit below them in the table.
The first of those ties is against Marlow United, who performed admirably in their 2-0 defeat to secondplaced Burghfield.
With home advantage at Bisham Abbey and a 3-2 win against their local rivals in October, Maidenhead go into the game as favourites.
Finchampstead remain top on 27 points and are unbeaten in five games in all competitions. Woodley United Royals stay bottom despite a first win of the season, a 4-3 thriller against Mortimer.
W EAST BERKSHIRE LEAGUE
Singh Sabha Slough’s defence of their East Berkshire Premier League title looks set to go to the wire at the midway point of the season.
If results go their way they could leapfrog Pundit FC and move to second on Saturday, but they must first overcome AFC Cressex, who were victorious in a 5-4 thriller when the sides met in October.
Pundit lost 2-0 at home to Frontline last weekend, leaving the door open for Singh Sabha, who have also played a game less than their title rivals.
Singh Sabha sit six points behind league leaders Britwell with eight games played of the 18-game season.
Harts of Bracknell moved to the top of Division One with a 6-2 hammering of Braywood Beavers.
They are the title favourites having won seven and drawn one of their league fixtures and boast a vastly superior goal difference to the teams around them.
