Consultation events to discuss implications of move

Further supporter consultation events are being held by Maidenhead United this week over the club's proposed move from York Road to a new community stadium in Braywick Park.

The club confirmed last month that it had finalised an agreement with the council to acquire a 3.7-hectare plot of land at the park for a new sports ground which will incorporate football, athletics, and other associated facilities.

Club CEO Jon Adams led a question-and-answer session with supporters following the club's 2-2 draw with Aldershot Town on bank holiday Monday and a second event to discuss the implications of the move took place in Stripes Bar at York Road last night (Wednesday) while a third is planned for Saturday, May 14, between 12.30pm and 2pm. Stripes will remain open afterwards for those who want to watch the FA Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool.

Supporters/members wishing to register their attendance can do so by visiting the club's website so approximate numbers can be gauged. Those who wish to ask a question or comment, but cannot make either of the sessions, can email: braywick@maidenheadunitedfc.org.

The club will now work with the council to develop its proposals before making a planning application over the summer. Supporter engagement is important as the club wants the new stadium to meet and needs and expectations of fans, as well as the wider community, who'll also get the chance to consult on the matter in due course.

The objective of these meetings is to give more information about the overall scope of the proposals - the layout, look and feel of the ground - and provide more information on catering and hospitality as well as fan/family zone provision.
