Stoke Green maintained their unbeaten early season form in Thames Valley League Division 1 with an eight-wicket win over bottom of the table Burnham on Saturday.

Having won the toss and elected to bat first, Burnham were restricted to 158 all out from 35 overs, largely owed to the formidable bowling of Gurveer Singh (5-29).

Fahad Raja obtained the best runs with 45 while Aminesh Singh followed up with 27.

In reply, Green made light work of the chase with opening batsmen Jasraj Ghrial and Jamie Odell claiming 59 and 82no respectively.

Saqlain Basharat (13) and Imran Khan (4no) applied the finishing touches as the hosts managed 162-2 from 25.1 overs.

Boyne Hill’s hunt for a first win of the season goes on after they suffered a threerun defeat against Beaconsfield.

Beaconsfield lost some early wickets, with Jago Catherwood (3) and David Justus (0) quick to return to the clubhouse, however, Usman Ijaz (41) kick-started their innings and James Warsop got the ball well and truly rolling with 102 runs – including 15 fours – before he was caught by Jamie Shepherd.

Captain Ziafat Ashraf contributed with 48 runs before Beaconsfield’s innings was wrapped up on 275 all out from 49 overs.

Hill endured similar ill- luck at the start of their innings, with Imran Butt (4) and Nabeel Janed (5) both departing without really troubling the scorer. Usman Ilyas smashed a brilliant 103 off 116 deliveries and Tharushan Iddamalgoda also contributed 82 runs to put Hill in a commanding position on 210-3, however, their innings collapsed badly from there as they limped on to 272-9 from their 50 overs.

Elsewhere in the division, Cookham Dean conquered Eversley by 45 runs to move up to fourth in the table.

Having lost the toss and been inserted, Dean managed 244 all out from 48.5 overs with their best knocks coming from Shahzad Asghar (64) and Deswin Currency (87).

Oli Parsons (3-47) and Kyle Bienefeld (3-36), meanwhile, did their best to keep Dean's batsmen in check.

In reply, the visitors were held to 199-8 over 50 overs with Bienefeld (28), Benjamin Salter (27no), and Chris Last (38no) showing some resolve after a poor start with the bat.

In Division 2A, Marlow lost by two wickets against Chesham 2nds at the Meadow.

Batting first, Marlow totted up a respectable target of 222 all out from 48.1 overs, with some impressive figures coming from Will Bovill (60) and Kester Charlemagne (75) with the bat, while James Anderson (4-23) claimed the best with the ball.

Chesham, however, were able to chase down their target, with Henry Moore scoring 48 and Josh Tollerfield adding 41.

Star seamer Harry Williams had a tricky afternoon, taking 1-37, while Harry Spear managed to take 2-34 with the ball.

At Park Road, Wraysbury fell to a 106-run defeat against Uxbridge.

Having won the toss and elected to bat, the hosts imposed themselves on Wraysbury’s bowling with Amaan Quadri (128) swatting over a century of runs and Sami Kazim (92) also coming close to the mark.

Captain Andy Prasad (4-58) took his side’s best figures, but Uxbridge concluded the first innings 306-5 from their 50 overs.

Prasad got his team off to a strong start in response, opening the innings with 49. Naeem Baig was adjudged lbw for a duck before Arslan Yaseen got Wraysbury back on the right path with 63 runs.

Frustratingly, when Yaseen was eventually caught out, Fahad Jeffery’s bowling stifled the middle order and Wraysbury were restricted to 200 all out.

In Division 2B, Royal Ascot had an enjoyable afternoon as they beat Binfield by five wickets.

Batting first the visitors chalked up 214 all out from 49.5 overs, despite the best efforts of Andrew Murray’s bowling. Wynand

Lamprecht (42), Alex Jackson (58), and Shaun Miller (72) were Binfield’s key batsmen but were dismissed by Murray who took 4-50.
