Phillip Schofield hosts the ceremony live from Hackney Empire, with Coronation Street, Doctors, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks battling it out for the 14 coveted awards. Alongside an array of soap favourites, some of entertainm­ent’s biggest names present the trophies in new categories Best Family and Best Leading Performer as well as Best British Soap, while one legend takes home this year's Outstandin­g Achievemen­t Award.

The Fifteen Billion Pound Railway

The return of the documentar­y following the building of Crossrail, with the first of a two parts charting the race to fix the railway’s hi-tech software and systems so that the new line would be open in time for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. For more than 10 years, cameras have followed the engineers, technician­s and transport staff under pressure to deliver their section of the project, including constructi­on fixes in the tunnels, safety checks of the stations and the testing of the complex, bug-ridden train software, all in a bid to make it safe for passengers.

England v Soccer Aid World XI (Kick-off TBA). Dermot O’Leary and Alex Scott present live coverage of the charity fixture, which takes place at London Stadium. England’s team includes Liam Payne, Damian Lewis and Eni Aluko, while their opponents feature Usain Bolt, Idris Elba and Roberto Carlos. There is also a special half-time performanc­e by Robbie Williams.
