Boyne Hill beat high

-

Boyne Hill are off the mark in Thames Valley Cricket League Division One as they beat Stoke Green by 177 runs on Saturday afternoon.

On home turf, Hill were inserted at the crease first with Tharushan Iddamalgoda (104) picking up the best figures while Nabeel Janed (26), Hamid Riaz (54) and skipper Ziya Mohamed (31no) added solid contributions with the bat.

Bowling, Imran Khan (3-56) performed the best for Green. In total, Hill managed 282 runs at the expense of seven wickets from 50 overs.

At the changeover, the hosts maintained their intensity and restricted Gagan Singh’s side to 105 all out from 28 overs. This was largely owed to Riaz (311) and Mohamed’s (4-11) irrepressible work with the ball.

Neither side change their positions in the table following the result, with Boyne Hill sitting in ninth and Stoke Green perched in third.

In another entertaining local derby, Burnham also picked up their first win of the campaign, defeating

Cookham Dean by eight wickets at the Memorial Ground. Having been put in to bat first, James Le Fleming (24no) proved to be Dean’s best batsman as his previous teammates struggled to get to grips with Imran Aslam (3-26) and Sajid Aziz (3-26).

After 33.4 overs, Ben Millar’s men managed 145 all out. In reply, wicket-keeper Hamza Azfaal (8) got the ball rolling as first batsman before Lasan Wijemuni (117no) stole the show with over a century to ensure the target was just a few runs out of reach.

With just two wickets sacrificed, Burnham obtained 146 runs from 23.5 overs.

The side remain at the foot of the table while Dean slip to sixth.

In Division 2A, Wraysbury beat Bushy Park by six wickets. Batting first, Park managed 253 all out from 50 overs with plaudits going to Kristian Wiliman (51) and Paddy Parks (79) for their work at the crease.

his proficiency with the bat, knocking 61 runs, and Naeem Baig (28), Yaseen (25), Jayesh Mohan (53no), Guy Sheena (39) and Hikmatullah Kakar (32no) all posted healthy contributions.

After 47 overs, Wraysbury had achieved 255 for four, lifting them into second place in the division.

In Division 2B, Royal Ascot’s form was checked by Slough 2nds, the side emerging victorious by four wickets. Inserted to bat first, Ascot had a promising start with James Wensley (31) and Christoffel Karemaker (103no) having notable impacts with the bat.

At the end of the first innings, the visitors had managed 225-7 from 50 overs.

In reply, Slough had Veerender Pathlavath (56), Aizaz Ahmed (36), and Naseer Ahmed (77no) largely to thank for reaching the total. With six wickets surrendered, the home side achieved 228 runs from 38.3 overs. Royal Ascot drop to seventh and Slough rise to eighth following the result.

In Division 3A, White Waltham lost to Kidmore End by 38 runs. Kidmore End tallied 264-9 from 45

overs, with notable knocks coming from Matt Bolton (75), James Frost (38), Gregor Hearn (35), Amol Tyagi (27), Atif Nasim (32no), and Vipin Taliyan (28), while Michael Chapman claimed 3-34 with the ball.
