-

A double victory in Zolder saw Holyport's Harry King maintain his perfect start to the 2022 Porsche Carerra Cup Benelux season.

Having chalked up a couple of victories from the opening event in Spa, King and his Parker Revs Motorsport team continued to show excellent pace and consistency in Belgium.

King is quickly becoming the driver to beat in the Benelux series, which he is taking part in alongside the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.

From the outset King topped the times in both free practice sessions before setting the fastest lap in qualifying to beat Ghislain Cordeel to pole by more than two-tenths of a second.

Having retained his lead at the start of the race, he then controlled proceedings from the front and edged clear of the chasing pack. With the battle for second taking place behind him he pulled clear for his third straight win and set the fastest lap of the race in the process.

His second best time in qualifying for the second race placed him on pole for the second race and

King kept his cool after a caution incident to complete a weekend double.

Once the action got back under way, he showed his pace to move clear of his challengers, finishing more than half a second quicker than anyone else as he beat experienced racer Xavier Maassen to victory by more than eleven seconds.

The result sees the former Porsche GB Junior Driver extend his points lead ahead of round three of the series in Zandvoort in a few weeks’ time.

"From a points perspective, it couldn’t have been better this weekend," he said. "We have gone out there and scored every single point that was available, and I couldn’t be happier for the championship as it allows us to extend our lead in the points.

"On a personal level, the big goal this weekend was to lap consistently across the race runs with the changes we had made to the car, and it was a case of mission accomplished in that respect.

"I’m looking forward to going to Zandvoort in a few weeks’ time for round three and a circuit where I raced last season, and then it will be full focus on the Supercup meeting at Silverstone and my chance to impress on home soil."
