Rebels announce new signings and welcome back more familiar faces

-

In a series of social media posts, spread across the whole of Tuesday, Slough Town announced some new signings and welcomed back familiar faces to the Rebels fold.

Having announced its retained squad just a few weeks ago, Slough revealed some of the deals joint managers Jon Underwood and Neil Baker have been working on in recent weeks.

First of all, they announced that midfielder Aaron Kuhl would be staying on for another season. Kuhl had been having in talks over extending his stay at Arbour Park, but wasn't included in the original retained list of players.

The Rebels have also resigned defender George Wells following his twoseason stint with Maidenhead United in the National League, striker Ben Harris, who looked set to move away from the club after last season and central defender Guy Hollis, who departed for Havant & Waterlooville midway through last season.

Finally, they've added to their firepoer, with experienced striker Elliot Benyon joining from Oxford City and attacking midfielder Johnny Goddard joining from St Albans City.

“Wellsy earned his chance to step up with some fantastic performances for the Rebels in his three-year stint with us, playing a huge part in our promotion and FA Cup runs, and left with our blessing. But we’re delighted that the time is now right for him to return,” a club statement read.

On Elliot Benyon's move, the club said: “Elliot will bring leadership skills to the changing room and on the pitch is a hard-working competitive player who will give us something different at the top end of the pitch.”
