Is your pet ready for their close up?

All areas: Win a photoshoot and treats in our Top Pet contest

- By Sally Gray news@baylismedia.co.uk @MaidenheadAds

Today the Advertiser is launching the 2023 search for the area’s favourite pet.

In recent years, it has become clear how important our pets are in our lives.

They provide comfort, stress relief, friendship and laughter every day, so let’s celebrate them together.

The competition is not restricted to traditional pets like cats and dogs.

There are no classes or entry criteria apart from the requirement for all entries to be domestic pets – no matter how weird or wonderful.

The Top Pet winner will receive a photoshoot for them and their pet with an Advertiser photographer and a framed 8”x10” photograph of choice from the shoot.

This year, Pets at Home in Stafferton Way will throw in a 5kg box of assorted treats from its pick ’n’ mix section worth £17.99 if the winning entry is a dog, or an alternative of equal value for a non-dog winner.

Pets at Home as a company loves to give back to the community and, at the Maidenhead branch, they are no different.

The team has joined forces with two local animal charities, Garbo’s German Shepherd Rescue and Maidenhead Cat Rescue, and has provided them with much needed money towards the cost of food, shelter, toys and veterinary care over the years.

In store, you’ll be able to find a collection bin where everybody is free to donate to either charity. On top of that, it regularly donates entire pallets worth of stock to help out as much as it can.

To submit your entry simply email your photo to us (sorry, no posted photos) showing your pet it in all its glory.

Include with it, your name, your pet’s name and your daytime telephone number.

Send it to sallyg@baylis media.co.uk by Friday, May 5.

We will then print all the photos in the Advertiser and on the Maidenhead Advertiser website and ask readers to vote for their favourite.

The winner will be the pet which polls the most votes.

So what are you waiting for? Whether you have a cute cat, great gerbil, delightful dog, superb spider or regal reptile, share it with us and bring a smile to our faces.

Please note that all photos

submitted should be in jpg format and should be no less than 1MB in size. For full terms and conditions visit maidenhead-advertiser.co.uk /section/969/terms-andconditions
